The Ventura County Fire Protection District would like to invite your organization to select
one individual as a representative to the Fire District's Citizens Advisory Group. The
primary focus of this group will be to analyze the current levels of services and assist the
district in assessing and determining if services levels are what the public expects and
deems vital.
The group will hold 4 -6 meetings, the first meeting will be an orientation on the current
levels of service, operations, revenue, staffing, and procedures. Once the present
organization is understood then the process of determining new service levels will occur.
Other areas that may be explored are: redundant services by government agencies; cost
recovery services; creative financing; and the district's future outlook.
Meetings will be held every two to three weeks at Fire Headquarters on Thursday
evenings. The first meeting is scheduled for October 21, 1993, at 7:30 p.m. The Advisory
Group will meet no more than six months and following the sixth month the group will be
disbanded.
The Citizens Advisory Group is non - political and serves in an advisory capacity to the
district. The Fire District would like to request that minority representation be an element
to the overall composure of the group, if possible. Participation on this ad hoc committee
is strictly voluntary. No expense for committee members is anticipated; however, if any
expense is incurred the Fire District cannot reimburse the costs.
