DATE: January 30, 1992 (CC meeting of 2/5/92)
SUBJECT: LETTER OF RESIGNATION FROM MICHAEL WILLIAMS
FROM THE VENTURA COUNTY CITIZEN'S
TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE (CTAC)
BACKGROUND
The City's appointee to CTAC, Mr. Michael Williams, has submitted a letter of resignation
citing a conflict between his increasing employment commitments and CTAC's afternoon
meeting schedule. Mr. Williams has served on CTAC since April 2, 1987.
The City's appointee to CTAC serves for an indeterminate period, at the pleasure of the
Ventura County Transportation Commission (VCTC). The duties and responsibilities of
CTAC are to avail itself of any and all information relating to the field of public
transportation, hold public hearings and to recommend to VCTC those actions it deems
necessary in the production of the transportation plan. CTAC meets the second Tuesday
of each month at 1:30 p.m.
Staff will prepare a press release on the vacant appointment and an advertisement for the
Moorpark News Mirror in addition to an announcement on Channel 10 requesting
interested persons to submit a letter of interest to the City Clerk. The date after which the
Council can fill this vacancy is February 6, 1992. This matter will be placed on the
February 29, 1992 City Council agenda for action.

Re: Citizens' Traffic Advisory Committee &
Social Services Traffic Advisory Committee
(CTAC /SSTAC)
Dear Council Members,
Due to increasing employment commitments, and the daily afternoon
meeting format for the CTAC /SSTAC meetings, I've found it
impossible to attend a large number of these meetings during the
past year. Accordingly, I'm submitting my resignation in the hopes
that someone better able to accommodate this schedule might be
found.
It has been both an education and a pleasure to serve during these
past four years. I've been made aware as never before of the
vitalness of transportation planning and implementation at every
level of government and how it impacts our lives, especially those
such as the seniors and handicapped whose needs are often
overlooked or not considered.
If I may be of any further service to you, the city,
successor, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Yours truly
Michael Williams
