FISCAL IMPACT
The following is a comparison of the annual salary (Step 'A') for
the positions of Public Woks Technician and Management Analyst
displayed by funding source:
The Public Works Technician position was budgeted at Step 'E' to
allow for some flexibility in recruitment. The amount budgeted for
the position [$37,0901 is comparable to Step ' B' for the Management
Analyst position. Therefore, it will not be necessary to increase
the budget to accommodate this proposed reclassification. In
addition, the net costs savings derived from the position remaining
unfilled for eight months is about $15,000. Even after including
fringe benefit costs of approximately thirty -three per cent (33 %)
the cost savings for this period would pay for the difference in
salary and benefits for approximately two years.
