SUBJECT: LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES PLANNERS INSTITUTE- APRIL 9,
10, 11, 1992, ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA - PLANNING COMMISSION
ATTENDANCE
Background
The Moorpark Operating Procedures No. 1 - Meetings and Conference
Expense addresses the requirements of City Officials to attend at
Conferences/Training Sessions which require overnight
accommodations, or which require an expenditure exceeding $250 . 00 .
MOP No. 1 states that the cost of registration, lodging, meals,
parking and mileage are allowable City expenses and are subject to
advance approval if funds have been appropriated for the travel.
Discussion
The remaining FY 91/92 Budget for Account No. 41-131. 632
Conferences and Meetings, is $6, 050 . 63 . The Planning Commission
intends to send three ( 3) of their representatives to the Planning
Institute.
MOP No. 1 further states that a Claim for Reimbursement of Travel
Expenses shall be submitted for Travel and that Meals and
associated tips are honored up to $50 . 00 per day based on the
limits of $10 . 00 for breakfast, $15 .00 for lunch and $25 . 00 for
dinner. Approximate costs:
Meals 3 x 2 days x $50.00 per day $ 300. 00
Travel 3 x 160 miles (rt) @ 0. 275 $ 132 . 00
SUB TOTAL $ 432 . 00

When the Commission members return the Certified Claim for Expense
Reimbursement form will be submitted to the City Manager to submit
to the City Council Budget and Finance Committee for approval .
Staff Recommendation
Approve the Planning Commissioner's attendance of the League of
California Cities Planning Institute to be held on April 9 , 10, &
11, 1992 and costs not to exceed $1, 646 . 34 .
