RE: PACIFIC BELL RATE INCREASE
A.92 -01 -021
To Whom It May Concern:
The City of Fillmore has reviewed the notice of the $9.25
million temporary rate increase requested for underground
facilitiesin areas affected by the Oakland Hills fire. Please
be advised that the City -of Fillmore City Council l is unanimously
opposed to the requested increase and urges
Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) to deny the request. It is
our understanding droundin4 he as deviates from
Rule cost allocation
f
f or Pacific
rules f g
Bell's tariffs.
While the City of Fillmore City Council sympathizes with the
devastation caused by the Oakland Hills fire, we believe it is
extremely inappropriate to ask ratepayers from throughout the
State to pay to provide for an enhancement to service as opposed
to one of fairness and equity and the rate ground.
ncrease to provide
is one
for an aesthetic upgrade goes beyond both.
Thank you for your consideration of our position on this
matter.
Sincerely,
Michael McMahan
Mayor, City of Fillmore
