MOORPARK
799 Moorpark Avenue Moorpark, California 93021 (805) 529 -6864
TO: HONORABLE CITY COUNCIL
FROM: RICHARD HARE, DEPUTY CITY MANA ER
DATE: April 30, 1992
SUBJECT: Consider Chamber of Commerce Request
for $15,000 for Country Days
Background
The Chamber of Commerce has submitted a request for a grant of
$15,000 from the City to defray some of the costs of the
sponsorship and coordination of Country Days. The Chamber would
like to hold the Country Days special event October 2nd, 3rd, and
4th. The traditional parade would be held on Saturday, however,
the other events to be held are still being planned.
In previous years, the City has provided support to the event by
assigning staff to assist with event planning and coordination
with other agencies, waiving fees, allowing the use of city
equipment, and paying for the additional law enforcement costs
associated with the parade. The level of City support for this
event has been considered in June along with other budget
requests, as the Council sets the budget for the upcoming fiscal
year.
Recommendation
Staff recommends that this request be referred to the Budget and
Finance Committee for consideration as part of the FY 92/93
Budget recommendation.
