Consider Use of Community Center Fund (7) Rental
Income
The General Fund's (1) FY 91/92 revenue budget includes $12,500 of
net rental income transferred from the Community Center Fund (7).
However the Engineer's report for the Park's Assessment District
(AD 85 -1 - APPENDIX B) has included Community Center Fund's (7)
rental income in determining the net amount to be funded by Park
assessments as listed in the Park's Maintenance Fund (25).
If the Council concurs with the Engineer's conclusion that
Community Center rental income should be used to offset the cost of
parks maintenance, then the revenue budget should be amended to
reflect the transfer of revenue from Community Center Fund (7) to
Parks Maintenance Fund (25).
Policy for Future Allocation
Community Center rental income which is between $10,000 and $12,000
each year has been assigned typically; to the fund which is
responsible for the expenses associated with the maintenance and
operation of the building. It is staff's desire to formalize this
treatment of the revenues generated by the Community Center
effective July 1st with the new budget.
Recommendation (Roll call vote required.)
First, reclassify Transfers -In of
Fund (7) to the General Fund
Community Center Fund (7) rental
Fund (25).
$12,500 from the Community Center
(1) to reflect the transfer of
income to the Parks Maintenance
Second, direct staff to apportion future revenues from the rental
of the Community Center on the same basis to the same fund as the
assignment of expenses for the operation and maintenance of the
building, effective July 1, 1992.
