Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council
Moorpark City Hall
799 Moorpark Avenue
Moorpark, CA 93021
Dear Mayor and Councilmembers:
The Moorpark Kiwanis Club is planning a Men's Slo -Pitch softball
tournament for Saturday, September 26, 1992 and Sunday, September
27, 1992. We have reserved use of the softball field at Peach Hill
Park and one of the two fields at North Meadows Park from 7:00 a.m.
to 7:00 p.m. We have also reserved these facilities for October 3
and 4, 1992 in the event of rain on the prior weekend. This
tournament is planned as a fund raiser for our Club with proceeds
to be used for various special projects. We anticipate
approximately 16 teams to participate.
The Club is conducting the tournament as part of the Chamber of
Commerce sponsored Country Days activities. While it is sanctioned
as an official part of Country Days, the Chamber of Commerce will
not share in the cost of or proceeds from the tournament.
The Kiwanis Club requests the City assist us in our endeavor by
waiving the rental fees for the two fields. In the event the
lights are used at Peach Hill Park, we would pay for such use at
the applicable hourly rate. In addition, we request use of two
sets of bases, field drag, liner, hoses and a landscape.rake stored
at Peach Hill Park and permission to operate a concession stand at
Peach Hill Park during the tournament. We are aware that alcohol
consumption is prohibited in City parks.
The City Council approved a similar request for the Club in 1990.
Your consideration of this request is appreciated. If additional
information is needed, please contact me at 529 -5871
Sincerely,
`-Jim-Jackson
Vice President, Moorpark Kiwanis Club
