COU
CTION:
As a result of a recent survey of attendees, the foilowup to our December 4 -5, 1991
Summit I meeting, will be held on Thursday, July 23, 1992, at the Hyatt Regency
Burlingame Hotel at San Francisco International Airport- While acknowledging that July
is sometimes difficult, it was felt that it was important to have the meeting at the earliest
possible date.
The goal of the Affordable Housing Partnership Project remains the same: to reach
consensus on strategies to:
• Coordinate and leverage federal, state and local financial resources to maximize
the production of affordable housing in California.
• Establish incentives for counties and cities to accept and encourage construction
of more affordable housing in their jurisdiction.
• Create a framework for replicating successful models for producing affordable
housing and assisting local jurisdictions in implementing programs.
The Steering Committee that was expanded at Summit I has been meeting regularly to
agree on recommendations that will be brought to the full group on July 23rd. It is the
intent of the Steering Committee to have the document mailed to registered participants
for review prior to the conference.
Please confirm your attendance by return of the enclosed registration form as soon as
possible so that arrangements can be finalized. A nominal registration fee of $45 will
include all conference materials, a Continental Breakfast and Lunch. While the venue was
selected to accommodate a one -day conference, the hotel is holding a small block of
rooms for those wishing to arrive on Wednesday evening at a special conference rate of
$99. Call (415) 347 -1234 and ask for the Action Summit for Affordable Housing. Free
shuttle service is provided to and from the airport.
We lock forward to your attendance at the ACTION SUMMIT II FOR AFFORDABLE
HOUSING on July 23rd and we welcome your participation in the development and
implementation of the Affordable Housing Partnership Project.
