Hare, City Clerk DATE: February 26, 1993 (CC meeting of 3/3/93) ITEM I&A "ORPAW, CALIFORNIA c;y Council Meeting F,CTION: F 1 y SUBJECT: CONSIDER APPOINTMENT TO THE CITIZENS TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE/ SOCIAL SERVICE TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY COUNCIL (CTAC /SSTAC) BACKGROUND Ellen Pitchford was appointed March 4, 1992 as one of two City representatives to the Citizens Transportation Advisory Committee /Social Service Transportation Advisory Council (CTAC /SSTAC). Ms. Pitchford submitted her resignation effective January 31, 1993. CTAC /SSTAC meets once a month, the second Tuesday, at 1:30 p.m. at the Government Center in Ventura. The duties and responsibilities of the committee are to obtain any and all information relating to public transportation, to study and work with city /county staffs within the Ventura County Transportation Commission (VCTC) and to recommend to VCTC those actions it deems necessary in the production of transportation plans and services. Per City procedure, a request for interested persons to apply for the appointment was published in the Moorpark News Mirror and a press release was prepared and sent to all the newspapers of local circulation. In addition, a notice of the vacant appointment was cablecast on Channel 10, placed on the Citizen Link computer and an attempted was made to call those with applications on file with the City Clerk's office indicating an interest in serving on boards, commissions and committees. 49'Turiff people have responded with a desire to be considered for this appointment: Morris Abramson, Eloise Brown, Ed Keating, Helen Taylor.
