HARE City Treasurer SUBJECT: REJECTION OF CLAIMS: RICHARD & BEVERLY CRISPO; WHITE TRUST; STAN & LINDA ZIARNIAK; JAYNE & WALTER JOHNSON; CLAUDIA TROISPOUX BACKGROUND The City has received claims filed by Richard & Beverly Crispo, White Trust, Stan & Linda Ziarniak, Jayne & Walter Johnson, and Claudia Troispoux relating to the cracking walls and slipping cenent slabs of their Fern Valley Court homes. The claims indicate that the problems surfaced in October of 1990. The claims allege that the houses may have been built on improperly compacted fill dirt and that the County of Ventura failed to take appropriate action to correct or protect the rights and interests of the honeowners. Our insurance adjuster, Carl Warren & Co. has reviewed these claims and has recommended that the Council reject the claims.
