Availability of program funds is contingent upon the receipt
of Federal and State monies and approval of the Area Plan by
the Ventura County Board of Supervisors and the California
Department of Aging.
Staff has discussed this grant request with Dr. Braun,
Moorpark Senior Citizens Club President. Dr. Braun informed
staff the Seniors will only be applying for the "Multipurpose
Senior Center Staff Support" funds.
The Seniors are considering an application_ for a
transportation vehicle through CalTrans under Section 16 B(2)
of the Federal Urban Mass Transportation Act and will not be
applying for transportation funds through VCAAA.
As the Seniors are working to acquire grant funds,.` it would
be in their best interest for the City not to compete for
funding which may dilute their chances to be funded.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Direct staff to not apply for grant and receive and file
report.
