Kellerman, City Clerk DATE: May 29, 1991 (805) 529-6864 _ORPARK, CALIFORNIA City Council Meeting of 1991 A ON SUBJECT: CONSIDER CLOSURE OF CITY HALL ON JULY 5, 1991 AND COUNCIL MEETING DATES FOR JULY. The affected City staff has unanimously agreed to exchange eight hours (four hours for the permanent part-time position) of accrued leave (vacation and/or administrative leave) for the closure of the City offices on Friday, July 5, 1991. The attached resolution, if adopted by the City Council, authorizes the closure of the City offices on July 5, 1991. The Council has previously approved this arrangement. This was last done on December 31, 1990. Because of the Fourth of July holiday and the planned Chamber of Commerce "Concert in the Sky" on July 3rd, Council may wish to cancel the July 3rd meeting and forego an adjourned meeting on July loth. Only one regular Council meeting, on July 17th, would then be held for the month of July. This action would result in our going "dark" for two weeks preceding and following the July 17th meeting. This would allow staff and Council to plan vacations to minimize impact on the meeting schedule and deadlines. If an additional meeting was needed, it could be held on July 24th or July 31st. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: 1. Adopt Resolution No. 91-1(as_ authorizing the closing of City offices on July 5, 1991. 2. Modify the meeting dates for July to cancel the July 3rd meeting and to not hold an adjourned meeting on July 10th. Attachment PAUL W. LAWRASON JR. BERNARDO M. PEREZ SCOTT MONTGOMERY ROY E.
