Richards, Director of Community May 29, 1991 (CC meeti,(j 6 -5 -91) Development SUBJECT: AMENDMENT TO THE ZONIN( CODE REGARDING PAR KING REQUIREMENTS BACKGROUND At the City Council's meeting of May 22, 1991, consideration of Industrial Planned Development No. 90 -15 proposal to construct a multi - level parking (Litton) proposal a meeting the applicant stressed a need to provide a parking tspace less than that required by the cit:y's Zoning code. The applicant provided the City Council with additional information at the meeting to support their position After hearing from the applicant; the Mayor suggested review this matter as it related =-o standards that staff leveled facilities. On February 20, 1991 the city adopted the new Zoning Code. RESOLUTION NC 9 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA, INITIATING PROCEEDINGS TO CONSIDER AMENDING THE MOORPARK MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO ARTICLE 8 OF THE ZONING CODE REGARDING PARKING STANDARDS FOR MULTILEVEL STRUCTURES, Whereas, Section 8115 -1 of Article 15 of Chapter 1 of the zoning Ordinance of the City of Moorpark provides that the City Council may initiate proceedings to consider amendments to the Zoning Ordinance by the adoption of a resolution requesting the Planning Commission of said City to set the matter for public hearing, report and provide th-Lr recommendation to the City Council; NOW, THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOW': Section 1. That the City Council does hereby initiate consideration of an amendment to revise the parking standards for multilevel structures as set fort' in the Moorpark Municipal Code. Section 2. That the Planning Commission is hereby directed to set a public hearing to review the parking standards for multilevel structures so as ;_o make a recommendation to the City Council of such changes as t-le Commission deems appropriate. Section 3. That ith,; resolution shall take effect immediately. Section 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution, and shall forward a certified copy of said resolution: to the Planning Commission of said City for action pursuant to nst:ruct: ions contained therein PASSED AND ADOPTED this day of 1991.
