FROM: David A. Bobardt, Community Development Director
DATE: November 20, 2015 (CC Meeting of December 16, 2015)
SUBJECT: Consider Extending Suspension of Enforcement of Recreational
Vehicle and Trailer Parking and Storage Standards on Private
Property in Residential Zones
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
On July 1, 2015, Council directed staff to suspend code compliance efforts at enforcing
provisions of Section 17.32.120 (Recreational vehicle and trailer parking and storage
standards) of the Moorpark Municipal Code, and on September 16, 2015, Council
extended the suspension until November 30, 2015. Due to staffing vacancies, staff
requests additional time to continue to work on alternatives. The goal is to develop
changes to the Zoning Ordinance that provide additional flexibility for storage, while
maintaining the aesthetics of the City's residential neighborhoods.
FISCAL IMPACT
None.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Direct staff to continue suspension of code compliance efforts at enforcing provisions of
Section 17.32.120 (Recreational vehicle and trailer parking and storage standards) of
the Moorpark Municipal Code through April 30, 2016.
