BACKGROUND:
The City has I io sets of r r - tf basketball courts at

painting. Mr. Tilberg. said tiey painted several of their
basketball courts three to four years aqo, and they have held up
extremely well. They used to saniblast their courts every three
to four years but now paint them a -hey wear longer which reduces
maintenance costs. He also indicted r,:ller skates and bicycles
have not. shown any adverse effect , t:he, aint.
Staff contacted the company tq Dai,-Led the Cone' courts,
Dougherty Recreation Surfaci..:,c, .orrlpar Mr. Dougherty did
acknowledge he painted severa hE cnejo basketball courts
three or four years ag) .
Mr. Dougherty was asked to review u: c- oi_ :-t.s and submit a quote to
resurface one, two and four court .2 1'r.4cr: quoted for a two -color
paint application: were:

Funds in the amount of $10,000 per ij)propriated in the FY 1991/92
