MEMORANDUM111.109
TO: Honorable City Council r— l'OORPARK, CALIFORNIA
City Coun iI Meeting
FROM: Richard Hare, Deputy City Manage of 199/
DATE: October 31, 1991 -J ACTION:
SUBJECT: City Sponsored Employee
Christmas Party a ''r
Background:
Over the last several years, the City Council has sponsored
activities and efforts to reinforce the positive interaction of the
Council, Commissioners, and employees. One of the programs
supported by the City Council has been the Employee of the Month
Program. An employee is nominated for the honor and selected each
month and presented to the City Council. It is hoped that the
annual Christmas party would allow for further recognition of
deserving employees and for positive contact between employees and
elected and appointed officials. In past years, the party was an
informal event attended only by employees.
The Christmas party will be held in the Apricot Room of the
Community Center on December 7th. Staff proposes that a budget of
$300 be established from special departmental supplies
(01.4 . 117 . 629) . The funds would be used for items such as
community center decorations, and recognition supplies. Those in
attendance will pay for the cost of any food and beverages.
If the City Council agrees with the staff proposals, staff members
have volunteered to make all of the arrangements for the party and
to handle the necessary set up and clean up.
Recommendation:
Concur with the City sponsored Christmas Party expenditure of $300.
