On November 6, 1991, the City Council took action to authorize the City Manager to work with Pruner Ambulance to determine a potential site for permanent housing of the ambulance in the City as part of the overall proposal to come back to the full Council for onsideration. The most recent meeting with Pruner was conducted on November 12, 1991. At this meeting„ the Pruner representatives informed us that they would proceed to locate an ambulance in the City, staffed with a paramedic and EMT -D. An agreement with the City is not required for their action. Pruner may discontinue this service at any time. Pruner representatives are aware this action is inconsistent with the City's current zoning requirements. Ambulance services are permitted in the following zones: C -O (with a Planning Commission approved CUP) C -2 (with a Planning Commission approved CUP) CPD (with a Planning Commission approved CPD if less than 20,000 square feet) It is a consensus of the Committee that the quasi public nature and public health and :safety benefits of having an ambulance stationed in the City warrant processing of a zoning entitlement or change tti) the zoning code requirements while the ambulance is stationed in the City. The Committee recommends that the Council ii.thorize the initiation of one or the other or both zonincli i,:FionE- On November 14, 1991, Pruner x e,)resentatives informed me that they have rented an apartment in the Wood Creek project on the east side of Spring Road , ( tai of New Los Angeles Avenue.
