SUBJECT: TRAINING SEMINAR CODE ENFORCEMENT PROCEDURES & TECHNIQUES
In accordance with the Moorpark Operating Procedure No. 1 -
Meetings and Conference Expense. This memorandum is being
forwarded to the Council so as to approve the Code Enforcement
Officer attendance at a seminar for Code Enforcement Procedures and
Techniques.
The MOP No. 1 requires that when the cost of registration; lodging,
meals, etc. are at City expense the City council must approve such
expenditure.
It is the intention of the Code Enforcement Officer to attend the
Annual Training Seminar Training courses for Code Enforcement
Officers Workshop on March 7 - 9, 1990 in Sacramento, California.
The estimated cost associated with the Code Enforcement Officers
attendance is as follows:
Registration Fee $145.00
Air Transportation 284.00
Hotel x 3 nights 178.00
Meals 90.00
Total $697.00
The remaining budget for conference attendance is $4,155 for FY
1989/90.

Staff Recommendation
Approve the attendance of the Code Enforcement Officer to attend
the CEO Procedures and Techniques Workshop.

ABOUT TfE SEMINAR . . .
The new course tormat nllows you to pick and t.hoont !rnn nultiple
courses offered side -by -side in most cases. some cour:;e:_. are for
everyone and no other course is provided in that time slot. Please
read the agenda carefully and use the registration form to indicate
the courses you have selected so that we may make room arrangements.
While we have doubled the space from last year, space is limited and
advance mail registration is required. Included in the seminar fee is
the course syllabus, daily lunch and coffee/danish, reception,
certificate of completion, and membership meeting. Syllabus is also
available separately by telephoning Stephanie D'Agostini (209) 223-
6565.
ABOUT THE MEMBERSHIP MEETING . . .
Election of Directors and a workshop on illegal businesses are the
topics for the membership meeting. The seminar price includes the
meeting lunch and workshop. If you are attending only the meeting and
not the seminar, advance mail registration is required as usual. No
walk-in registrations will be accepted. If you are a member and
unable to attend the membership meeting, be sure to telephone Beverly
Cauchi, CACEO Secretary, (707) 449-5111, for an absentee ballot as
soon as possible as all ballots must be received by February 23, 1990.
ABOUT THE FACILITIES . . .
The new Radisson Hotel Sacramento has completed construction of
additional conference facilities. Last year, we were limited to the
old facility. This year, we will be in the new conference buildings
which allows us to double the number of participants conLfortably. The
discount room rate is $54/single occupancy or $64/double occupancy
plus 10% tax. In order to obtain this rate, please telep:one the
hotel no later than February 7, 1990 (800 333-3333). You are
encouraged to arrive the night before the seminar for your
convenience.
HOW TO REGISTER . . .
For either the seminar/membership meeting or just the membership
meeting, please use the registration form on the reverse and mail it
to: Stephanie D'Agostini, Code Enforcement, Amador County, 108 Court
Street, Jackson, CA 95642 (209) 223-6565. Make checks payable to
CACEO. Your check and registration must be received by February 16,E
1990. We will confirm receipt of your registration by confirmation
cards. If you do not hear from us, you are not registered and should
telephone for more information. Space is limited - register early!!!
CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY . . .
A full refund will be made if a written request to cancel is received
by February 16. 2990. No refunds after that date.
CACEO 1990 MEMBERSHIP DUES . . .
If you are not already a member, we encourage you to become one and
enjoy the full benefits of our association. Individual annual dues
are $45 and can be paid with seminar registration. Current members
can also renew their dues here (see reverse). You must be a member in
order to vote at the membership meeting.
