HARE City Treasurer SUBJECT: Declaration of City Surplus Equipment. for Public Auction The following report is intended to a ;ow the City Council an oportunity to reveiw the attached list, (Attachnesnt A), :)f City goods and declare items on this list as "surplus ", so t at Staff may proceed to sell this equipment at public auction. The 1 i;t Ls a combination of equipment resulting from the remodleing of City Hall, and the Community Center /Senior Center. Staff's recon- Unendatior is for the City Council to declare the equipment in Attachme -rNt ^'A" as surplus, and authorize staff to sell this equipment at pub] auc:i:n Discussion Currently, staff has stored surplus equipment from City Hall in the storage bin outside the north entry ce. Surplus equipment from the Community Center remodeling is most txom :he kitchen, and is being stored outside. The City Hall equ.iiinent is costing the City $90 per month for storage, and the kitchen, & .ipment, exposed to the elements, is in jepeordy of further detericrat_ yn In order to dispose of this property, he C-ity must hold, or participate in, a public auction. Auctions are eld for this purpose in the City of Industry, or the City could orgy ize a public viewing and accept closed bids for the equipment.
