Newhouse Director of Community Services DATE: March 15, 1990 SUBJECT: Consider Cinco De Mayo Event BACKGROUND: At the February 12, 1990, Parks,,and Recreation Commission meeting, the Commission formed a subcommittee of members Teresa Godinez and John Torres to plan a Cinco De Mayo event. Cinco De Mayo is one of six special events budgeted in the Recreation Special Events budget. The subcommittee met with members of the community; Councilmember Bernardo Perez, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Nainoa and Vickie McGowan to discuss ideas for celebrating Cinco De Mayo.
