Richards, Director. of Community Development DATE: April 9, 1990 (CC Meetinq April.. 18, 1990) SUBJECT: STREET NAME Background On January 18, 1989, the City Council approved a Street Naming Policy requiring the developer to submit the proposal to the Community Development Department which would place the request before the Council on the consent calendar of an agenda. This replaced the previous system where street names were approved by the Fire District and the City reviewed the street names when the final map came before the Council Discussion Staff has received a request from Abe Guny to name a private street in tract 4278. The proposed name is "Johnyboy Lane." In accordance with the Street Naming Policy adopted by the Council staff is bringing this item before you for consideration. The approved Street Naming Policy does not distinguish between public and private streets. Staff recommends that the Council consider whether private streets sr:)uld be included as part of the Street Naming Policy.
