FRANCHISE EXTENSION VENTURA COUNTY CABLEVISION
In view of the continuing negotiations between the City of
Moorpark and Ventura County Cablevision (VCC) with respect
to the renewal of the franchise for that portion of the City
served by VCC, the City's attorney in this matter, Scott
Field, has requested the current franchise agreement be
extended.
This extension, until August 2, 1990, will provide an
opportunity for the City's representatives and
representatives of VCC to further discuss the franchise
agreement and the enabling ordinance. Another meeting of
the ad hoc Council Cable Franchise Committee consisting of
Councilmember Brown and Mayor Pro Tem Montgomery is
scheduled for April 30th with representatives of Western
Communication (VCC) to review the proposed franchise
agreement's language..
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Approve Resolution No. 90 - _ extending the franchise
agreement with Ventura County Cablevision until August 2,
1990.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CIT'Y' COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA, EXTENDING THE CABLE
TELEVISION FRANCHISE FOR VENTURA COUNTY
CABLEVISION, INC. THROUGH AUGUST 2, 1990.
WHEREAS, pursuant tc Council action taken on
February 7, 1990, the City granted an extension of the cable
television franchise held by 'Ventura County Cablevision,
Inc. (VCC) to May 3, 1990, in )rder to permit the City and
VCC to negotiate the final terms of a new franchise, and in
order to permit the City an opportunity to consider whether
to approve a new franchise; anl,
WHEREAS, negotiations ire still continuing.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA, DOES REST ";LVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The cable television franchise held by
VCC is hereby extended througr August 2, 1990. The terms
of the franchise are set forte- in Resolution No. 86 -363.
SECTION 2_ Within thrty (3O) days after passage
of this Resolution, VCC shall file in the office of the City
Clerk a written acceptance of this Resolution, executed by
VCC in a form approved by the City Attorney. VCC, by
executing and filing the accept ince, guarantees performance
of all obligations hereunder
SECTION 3. The City 31.erk Shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution.
