SUBJECT: Franchise Extension Ventura County Cablevision
In view of the continuing negotiations between the City of
Moorpark and Ventura County Cablevision (VCC) with respect
to the renewal of the franchise for that portion of the City
served by VCC, the City's attorney in this matter, Scott
Field, has requested the current franchise agreement be
extended.
This extension, until November 8, 1990, will provide an
opportunity for the City's representatives and
representatives of VCC to further discuss the franchise
agreement and the enabling ordinance. Two meetings have
been held by staff. Another meeting of the ad hoc Council
Cable Franchise Committee, consisting of Councilmember Brown
and Mayor Pro Tem Montgomery, is scheduled for August with
representatives of Western Communication (VCC) to review the
proposed franchise agreement's language
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Approve Resolution No. 90- 7124 extending the franchise
agreement with Ventura County Ca levision until November 8,
1990.
