Newhouse, Director of Community Services D,�1 DATE : 7/26/90 SUBJECT : Consider Waiver of Building Rental Fees for American Red Cross Disaster Action Team Training The Ventura Chapter of the American Red Cross is requesting no cost use of the Community Center for the purpose of establishing a Disaster Action Team in the City of Moorpark . A total of 32 hours is being requested as follows : DATE TIME PURPOSE Tuesday, Aug . 14** 6 :00-10 :00 p .m Intro. to Disaster (4 hrs . ) Saturday, Aug. 25 8 :30 a.m. -4 :30 p .m. Mass Care (8 hrs . ) Saturday, Sept . 15 9 : 00 a.m. -1 : 00 p.m. Damage Assessment (4 hrs . ) Tuesday, Sept . 18** 6 :00-10 :00 p.m. Family Service (4 hrs . ) Thursday, Sept . 20 6 : 00-10 : 00 p.m. Family Service (4 hrs . ) Saturday, Sept . 22 8 :00 a .m.-4 : 00 p.m. Family Service (8 hrs . ) * * Moved to Apricot Room because of prior rentals . The program training, including all program materials, will be provided by members of the American Red Cross and offered at no cost to those attending this program. However, it will be necessary to require staff to work 2 hours overtime on Tuesdays, August 14 and September 18, and Thursday, September 20, to accommodate this request . Staff recommends the 6 hours overtime cost at $15 per hour ($90) be passed to the American Red Cross . In the upcoming weeks we will be training our volunteers to perform a variety of essential functions. This training will be offered at no cost to the volunteers. .
