Richards, Director of Community Development August 15, 1990 (CC meeting September 5, 1990) PD 980 Minor Modification No. 5 ITEM-P.- JRft STEVEN KUENY City Manager CHERYL J. KANE City Attorney PATRICK RICHARDS, A.I.C.P. Director of Community Development R. DENNIS DELZEIT City Engineer JOHN V. GILLESPIE Chief of Police RICHARD T. HARE City Treasurer On January 18, 1984 the City Council approved Resolution 84 -63 permitting construction of a 125,113 sq. ft. shopping center at the northwest corner of Moorpark Avenue and Los Angeles Avenue (the Moorpark Town Center). Discussion The requested modification is to make minor alterations to the existing windows and doors on the exterior of a freestanding satellite building in the shopping center. At present the large multi - pane windows have a wooden panel below the horizontal mullion and above the kickplate which is at ground level. The wooden panels would be replaced by glass panes. The multi -pane doors would be replaced with a wood frame to match the new window treatment. The existing wood trim surrounding the windows would remain, as would the kickplate and mullion. The proposed modification would not alter the approved architectural style of the center and is intended to give greater retail visibility for this building. These modifications are being provided for a national retail chain known as "Clothestime ". The Director of Community Development has reviewed the proposed modification and intends to approve it. Pursuant to Resolution No. 88 -523 the Director has the authority to approve Minor Modifications. This matter is being presented to the Council as a courtesy. In the event the council wishes to appeal the Director's decision, it may do so. should the Council desire to appeal, it should set a public hearing date. The next available meeting date would be the Council's meeting of October 3,1990. If the Council takes no action then the Director's decision stands.
