HomeMy WebLinkAboutAGENDA REPORT 1990 0919 CC REG ITEM 04AITEM qA_c(.6 CITY OF MOORPARK PROCLAMATION RED RIBBON WEER October 21 -28, 1990 WHEREAS, drug abuse in California has reached epidemic stages and the 15 -24 year old age group is dying at a faster rate than any other age group; and WHEREAS, it is imperative that a united effort of community members be launched to stem the tide of drug abuse; and WHEREAS, co- sponsors of RED RIBBON WEEK are asking citizens to take this opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to drug free lives by wearing a red ribbon from October. 21 -28, 1990; and WHEREAS, youth, parents, teachers and persons from all walks of life are offering their commitment to eliminate the demand for alcohol and drugs by wearing ribbons during RED RIBBON WEEK and choosing to make "My Choice Drug Free ". NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Moorpark does hereby proclaim October 21 -28, 1990 as RED RIBBON WEEK in the City of Moorpark and urges all citizens to join in this cooperative effort, to combat drug abuse in our community. IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, the City Council of the City of Moorpark does set its hand and cause the Seal of the City of Moorpark to be affixed this 19th day of September, .1990. Bernardo M.
