SUBJECT: Approval of Specifications for the Acquisition
of a One Ton Dump Truck
OVERVIEW
This presents for your review and approval, the specifications
to be used for the acquisition of a One Ton Dump Truck.
DISCUSSION
The budget for Fiscal Year 190/91 includes $25,000 for the
acquisition of a One Ton dump truck to support the operations
of the Public Works Department. It is proposed that the cab &
chassis and the dump bed be bid separately. It is the view of
staff that this will both reduce cost and improve control over
the final product. The vendor of the dump bed will install same
on the Cab & Chassis to purchased and provided by the City. It
is expected that this procurement will take approximately four
months.
Attached are the specification for both the Cab & Chassis
(Exhibit 1) and the Dump Body (exhibit 2). These specifications
are based on specifications used by the County of Ventura.
RECOMMENDATION
Approve the attached specifications for the subject equipment
and direct staff to solicit bids fir ~he acquisition of same.
