SUBJECT: DESTRUCTION OF PERSONNEL APPLICATIONS
BACKGROUND
Old Personnel applications (older than two years) are not of
current value to the City and take up filing space needed for other
records.
Government Code Section 34090 authorizes the destruction of records
that are no longer required by the City with the approval of the
legislative body and the written consent of the City Attorney.
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt Resolution No. go-__7/1) allowing for the destruction of
personnel applications that are dated July 1, 1983 through
September 30, 1988.

RESOLUTION NO. 90-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MOORPARK AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF
CERTAIN RECORDS.
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 34090, et. seq. authorizes the
City Council to destroy those City records, documents, instruments,
books or papers after the same are no longer required, with the
approval of the legislative body by resoution and the written
consent of the City Attorney.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF rHE CITY OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council finds that the records set forth in
Exhibit "A: attached hereto, are older than two years, do not
affect title to real property or pending for threatened litigation,
and are not minutes, ordinances or resolutions of the City Council
or any board or commission of the City.
Section 2. The City Council also finds that the City Attorney
and the City Clerk have, by signing this resolution, given written
consent to the destruction of said records.
Section 3. The City Council hereby authorizes the City Clerk to
destroy the City Records listed in Exhibit "A ".
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 3rd day of October, 1990.
