SUBJECT: PLANNED DEVELOPMENT PERMIT NO. PD-980 (ALLIED INTERSTATE
DEVELOPMENT CORP.) - MINOR MODIFICATION NO. 4
Background
On January 18, 1988 the City Council approved Planned Development
Permit No. 980. This authorized the Moorpark Towncenter, a 125,113
sq.ft. shopping center at the northwest corner of Moorpark Avneue
and Los Angeles Avenue.
Discussion
At present the Thrifty Drug store in the above shopping center has
the need to install a six ft. diameter satellite antenna dish. The
proposal is to install the dish on the roof at he rear of the
building. Although this is the applicants preference, other
locations on the roof would work as well. It would only be visible
from the rear. The preferred method of installing the dish would
leave the entire diameter of the dish installed above the parapet
wall. The bottom of the dish is proposed to be six ft. from the
surface of the roof. the purpose of the dish is to be used for
employee training and for exchange of information between the
various stores in the chain.
The Director of Community Development has reviewed the proposed
modification, approved of it, and deemed it to be minor. the
Director's approval is subject to the attached condition of
approval (Exhibit 4) . Pursuant to resolution no. 86-276, the
Director has the authority to approve minor modifications. This
matter is being presented to the Council as a courtesy. In the
event the Council wishes to appeal the Director's decision, it may
do so. Should the Council desire to appeal, it should set a public

hearing date. The next available meeting date would be the
Council's regular meeting would be October 5, 1988. If the Council
takes no action then the Director' s decision stands.

1. The precise location and height of mounting of the satellite
dish antenna shall be subject to the approval of the Director
of Community Development.
