Dennis Delzeit, City Engineer f-fl," /_ e DATE: August 12, 1986• SUBJECT: Traffic Mitigation Fee City of San Buenaventura At the request of the City Council, I made a cursory review of the City of San Buenaventura's traffic mitigation fees legislation and backup material. In addition, I discussed this item with the City Engineer of San Buenaventura. In summary, this fee is set up in a very similar manner to the City of Moorpark 's areas of contribution. The purpose • of Ventura's fee is to provide for the construction of major capital improvements and fees are collected by the City from developers of new projects. The fees collected by the City of Ventura appear to be similar to the AOC fees collected by Moorpark. However, the residential fee appears to be lower, at $1,200 per unit verses $2,228 per unit for the L.A. AOC, while the fee collected by Ventura for general commercial and industrial is $2,400 per 1000 square feet of building space equates to an estimated fee of $24,000 per acre, which is about double the L.A. AOC fee of $12,245 per acre. This summary is presented for information only and no action is required at this time. eaugno RDD:jg 1986cc: John F.
