DENNIS DELZEIT MAUREEN W.WALL City Engineer City Clerk `° J JOHN V.GILLESPIE THOMAS P.GENOVESE Chief of Police City Treasurer MEMORANDUM TO: The Honorable City Council FROM: John F. Knipe, Assistant City Engineer it ///// DATE: October 5, 1988 SUBJECT: Truck Prohibition on Spring Road and Tierra Rejada Road BACKGROUND INFORMATION At the August 3, 1988 Council meeting, the Council expressed concern relative to diverting trucks onto Moorpark Road south of the City limit line. Therefore, Resolution No 88-498 was revised to prohibit trucks west of State Route 23 . Further coordination with the County of Ventura and the City of Thousand Oaks has revealed that trucks are permitted on Moorpark Road within the County of Ventura and the City of Thousand Oaks. The truck restriction sign posted on Moorpark Road pertains to truck restrictions on Santa Rosa Road. Consequently, per additional coordination with Caltrans and the County of Ventura, the City Engineer's staff recommends that Resolution No. 88-498 be superseded by the attached resolution. Although Caltrans will install the appropriate signs within Rte. 23 state right-of-way, the City may be required to obtain a state encroachment permit to install supplemental signs on Los Angeles Avenue (Rte. 118) . 799 Moorpark Avenue Moorpark, California 93021 (805) 529-6864 Page -2- RECOMMENDED ACTION Adopt Resolution No. 88-<'/{ ) , ;superseding Resolution No. 88-498, amending Resolution No. 84-137, and adopting a truck route from the intersection of Tierra Rejada Road and Moorpark Road South (County road) , east to the east City limit line.
