Moorpark, California April 4, 2016
A Special Park Tour Meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission of the City of
Moorpark was held on April 4, 2016, which began at 4:30 p.m. at said City located at
799 Moorpark Avenue, Moorpark, California.
1. CALL TO ORDER:
Chair Doria called the meeting to order at 4:33 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioners Adam Haverstock, Steve Morgan, Thomas
Pflaumer, Sandra Thompson, and Chair Terri Doria.
Staff Present: Parks and Recreation Director Jeremy Laurentowski and
Administrative Assistant Patty Anderson.
3. PUBLIC COMMENTS:
None.
4. REORDERING OF, AND ADDITIONS TO, THE AGENDA:
None.
5. ANNOUNCEMENTS, FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS AND REPORTS ON
MEETINGS/CONFERENCES ATTENDED BY COMMISSIONERS:
The Commissioners who attended the 2016 CPRS Conference stated that they
would give their oral reports at the next televised regular meeting.
6. PRESENTATION/ACTION/DISCUSSION:
A. Parks Tour. Staff Recommendation: The Commission and staff will tour
and discuss the following parks in the order listed below. (The times identified are
estimates only, and the Commission will attempt to meet this schedule.)
The Commission and staff toured the following parks:
1. Walnut Acres Park: The Commission and staff discussed the daily
maintenance required at this specific park, as well as the irrigation.
2. Poindexter Park: The Commission and staff discussed the play equipment
installed in 2015 and the Skatepark repairs.

3. Arroyo Vista Community Park: The Commission and staff discussed
proposed plans for the multi-use court and the plans for the recreational
trail.
4. Mammoth Highlands Park: The Commission and staff discussed the
park's landscaping and the recreational trail which extends beyond the
park.
5. Campus Park: The Commission and staff discussed replacing the
restroom.
The turf replacement project was discussed at all parks toured.
Following Item 6.A., Parks Tour, the Parks and Recreation Commission
continued their meeting at the Community Center located at 799 Moorpark
Avenue.
7. CONSENT CALENDAR:
A. Approval of Minutes for the Parks and Recreation Commission Regular
Meeting of March 7, 2016. Staff Recommendation: Approve as presented.
B. Goals and Objectives 2015/16 and 2016/17. Staff Recommendation:
Receive and file report.
C. Conceptual Design Plan for the Renovation of the Tierra Rejada Road
Streetscape City Council Report from March 16, 2016. Staff
Recommendation: Receive and file report.
D. Breakfast With Santa Event Report. Staff Recommendation: Receive and
file report.
MOTION: Commissioner Haverstock moved and Commissioner Thompson
seconded a motion to approve the Consent Calendar. The motion was carried by
unanimous voice vote.
8. ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
