Tomas Garcia, a resident of Thousand Oaks, has been a Resident Commissioner since 2008. Mr. Garcia's two-year term expired on May 31, 2010. FAX:805/480-1021 June 2, 2010 Maureen Benson, Assistant City Clerk City of Moorpark 799 S. Moorpark Ave. Moorpark, CA 93021 SUBJECT: RE-APPOINTMENT OF RESIDENT COMMISSIONER Dear Ms. Benson: The Area Housing Authority of the County of Ventura's Board of Commissioners is comprised of Commissioners who are individually appointed by the jurisdictions, in addition to one Resident Commissioner who is jointly appointed and who serves a two-year term. Our current Resident Commissioner's term expired at the end of May, that being Tomas (Tom) Garcia. Prior to expiration of Tom Garcia's term, the Housing Authority posted notices to residents of its subsidized properties concerning the opportunity; with details of the appointment procedure, eligibility requirements, and typical duties of the Resident Commissioner. At the end of the posting period, there was just one application from Tom Garcia, current Resident Commissioner. I therefore ask that Moorpark's City Council endorse Tom Garcia's re-appointment to the Area Housing Authority's Board of Commissioners. 1 have enclosed Mr. Garcia's application for Council review. A letter affirming Tom Garcia's re-appointment will be greatly appreciated.
