CAL 1COP" 1�Ity Council Meeting �l i n December 08, 2010 (CC Regular Meeting of 12/15/10) Consider Presentations from Applicants for Planning Commission BACKGROUND At the City Council's meeting on November 17, 2010, staff was directed to invite the applicants for the Planning Commission to attend the December 15, 2010, regular meeting and applicants for the Parks and Recreation Commission to attend the January 5, 2011, regular meeting to make a brief presentation on qualifications and interest in the appointment. Council further directed staff to provide the option for applicants with a scheduling conflict to attend either meeting. Letters were mailed and copies emailed on November 18, 2010, to all applicants inviting attendance at these meetings and identifying a maximum presentation time period of three (3) minutes. The City Clerk will conduct a random drawing of the names of the applicants just prior to the start of the meeting to determine the order in which they will speak. DISCUSSION Following is an alphabetical list of the applicants who have indicated they will attend the December 15, 2010 meeting. Planning Commission Applicants Mark DiCecco Diana Gould Daniel Groff Bruce Hamous Mary Ann Hansen Kipp Landis Michael Lillis Mark Taillon 111 Honorable City Council December 15, 2010 Regular Meeting Page 2 Of those who applied, the current Planning Commissioners are Mark DiCecco, Daniel Groff, Bruce Hamous, Kipp Landis, and Mark Taillon for the term ending December 2010. Planning Commission applicant, Rori Ridley has indicated a scheduling conflict with the December meeting date and will make her presentation at the January 5, 2011, regular meeting. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Hear presentations from applicants and defer appointment until the January 5, 2011, regular meeting, following the remaining applicant presentation. 112
