February 5, 2009 (CC Meeting of 02/18/09)
SUBJECT: Consider Appointment to Fill a Vacancy on the Area Agency on Aging
Advisory Council (AAAAC)
BACKGROUND
On December 12, 2008, an initial recruitment was conducted to fill one vacancy on
Moorpark's AAAAC created by the resignation of the City's representative, Ursula Kramer.
This recruitment ended on January 12, 2009, with no applications received. A second
recruitment was initiated on January 13. This appointment is to complete the current term
expiring on June 30, 2010.
DISCUSSION
The second application period to fill the vacancy closed on January 30, 2009. One
application was received from Joseph Catrambone (a copy of which was provided under
separate cover). On February 4, 2009, the Council appointed Mr. Catrambone to serve as
an alternate on the Citizens Transportation Advisory Committee. No Council policy
precludes appointees from serving on more than one board, commission, or committee.
The City Council's current Policies Resolution No. 2007 -2636 sets forth the Council policies
for citizen appointments to boards, commissions, and committees. The Council policies
have been followed for the posting and publication of notice of the vacancies.
