SUBJECT: . Consider Resolution Amending FY 2016/17 Budget for Funding
Property Management and Maintenance for 488 McFadden Avenue
BACKGROUND & DISCUSSION
On August 25, 2016, the City of Moorpark purchased 488 McFadden Avenue ("the
Property") in anticipation of future right-of-way needs related to the Moorpark Avenue
Widening Capital Improvement Project (CIP 8040) ("the Project"). Since the Property is
in good repair, it will be rented out until the Property is needed for the Project. No funds
were budgeted in the FY 2016-17 budget for Property management and maintenance
related to the Property, therefore Staff is requesting a Budget Amendment to account
for such expenses.
FISCAL IMPACT
Staff is requesting a budget amendment of $5,228 from the City-wide Traffic Mitigation
Fund (2002) for Property management and maintenance. The Property's revenues and
expenditures will be accounted for in Project No. 5098.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION (ROLL CALL VOTE)
Adopt Resolution No. 2016- , amending the Fiscal Year 2016/17 budget for
property management and maintenance as outlined in the staff report.

A RESOLUTION OF CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR
2016/17 BUDGET BY APPROPRIATING $5,228.00 FROM THE
CITY-WIDE TRAFFIC MITIGATION FUND (2002) FOR
PROPERTY MANAGEMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF 488
MCFADDEN AVENUE (PROJECT NO. 5098)
WHEREAS on June 15, 2016 the City of Moorpark adopted the Operating and
Capital Improvement Projects budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2016/17; and
WHEREAS, on August 25, 2016, the City of Moorpark acquired 488 McFadden
Avenue for right-of-way needed for the Moorpark Avenue Widening Project (Project
8040); and
WHEREAS, the City of Moorpark intends to lease 488 McFadden Avenue until
the Moorpark Avenue Widening Project is complete and property maintenance funding
will be needed during the term of the lease; and
WHEREAS, on September 1, 2016, the City of Moorpark approved Amendment
No. 1 to the Agreement with Linda L. Toth DBA Home Sweet Home Property
Management for Property Management Services to include residential property
management services for 488 McFadden Avenue; and
WHEREAS, a staff report has been presented to City Council requesting an
appropriation of $5,228.00 from the City-wide Traffic Mitigation Fund (2002) for property
management and maintenance expenses for 488 McFadden Avenue (Project No.
5098); and
WHEREAS, Exhibit "A", attached hereto and made a part hereof, describes said
budget amendment and the resultant impact to the budget line item.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. A budget amendment in the amount $5,228.00 from the City-wide
Traffic Mitigation Fund (2002), as more particularly described in Exhibit "A", attached
hereto, is hereby approved.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and
shall cause a certified resolution to be filed in the book of original resolutions.
