SUBJECT: Consider Rejection of Claim: Farmers Insurance INSURED (Tina Hare)
BACKGROUND
The City received the above referenced Claim on November 26, 2007. The claim for the
amount of $4,909.04 was forwarded to the City's claims adjuster, Carl Warren & Co., for
review.
DISCUSSION
The stated reason for the claim is for damage caused to claimaint's vehicle when driving on
Tierra Rejada during the street renovation project. Farmers submitted this claim on behalf of
their client regarding the same incident addressed in the claim filed independently by Ms.
Hare. The City's claim adjuster, Carl Warren, has recommended that a standard rejection
letter be sent to the claimant and the claim has been tendered to Excel Paving.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Reject the claim and direct staff to send a standard rejection letter to the claimant.
