AGENDA REPORT 2008 0521 CC REG ITEM 10B
ITEM 1 0' 8' CITY OF MOORPARK,t;AOFORN City Council Meeting of s-A/_OU©8 ACTION:a,,id aLY r MOORPARK CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT BY: TO: Honorable City Council FROM: Yugal K. Lail, City Engineer/Public Works Director Prepared by: Adam Burks, Assistant Engineer DATE: May 9, 2008 (CC Meeting of 05/21/08) SUBJECT: Consider the Revised Design Modifications for Signing and Striping at the Intersection of Campus Park Drive and Princeton Avenue DISCUSSION This item was presented to the City Council on May 7, 2008 and the council requested design modifications to address the bike lane transition at this location. The design modifications have been made to accommodate a better transition of the bike lane at this intersection (Attachment 1). Staff has determined the need for the modification of striping and signage at the intersection of Campus Park Drive and Princeton Avenue. The modifications include re- striping lane lines, legends, and adding additional signage. The modification would provide an unimpeded right-turn lane for northbound Princeton Avenue to Campus Park Drive. This non-stop right-turn lane would provide for more efficient traffic circulation at this intersection. PROJECT APPROVAL— DESIGN IMMUNITY It is recommended below that the City Council approve the project plan, in order to document City Council approval of the scope and design of the project. Such approval is also required for the purpose of establishing design immunity pursuant to Section 830.6 of the Government Code of the State of California. FISCAL IMPACT The proposed modifications are estimated to cost $6,000. Funding for this project will be from the current appropriations in Gas Tax Fund (Fund 2605).
