A. Consider approval of February 3, 2016 Regular Meeting Minutes
8. ADJOURNMENT:
All writings and documents provided to the Teen Council regarding the agenda items
are available for public inspection at the Arroyo Vista Recreation Center public counter
located at 4550 Tierra Rejada Road during regular business hours. The agenda for all
regular Teen Council meetings is also available on the City's website at
www.MoorparkCa.gov

that an agenda of the Regular Meeting of the Moorpark Teen Council to be held on
March 2, 2016, at 5:00 p.m. at the Arroyo Vista Recreation Center, 4550 Tierra Rejada
Road, Moorpark, California, was posted on February 26, 2016, at a conspicuous place
at the Arroyo Vista Recreation Center.

1. CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order at 5:06 p.m. by Gavin Mazur
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
The Pledge was led by Emily Appleton, Young Adult Librarian
3. ROLL CALL:
Present: Nada AbouHaiba, Dominic Castro, Jared Haar, Lois Halvorson, Jeff
Landis, Gavin Mazur, Elie McGregor, Helena Ordin, Bridgitte Pulimootil, Daniel
Vargas
Absent: Gianna Brown, Brooke Clarke, Heather Cooper, Rosie Cummings,
Siddhi Saluke
Staff Present: Jennifer Mellon
4. PUBLIC COMMENT:

5. DISCUSSION/ACTION ITEMS:
A. Teen Council Hours:
Teen Council discussed volunteer hours.
B. Upcoming Teen Programs
Saturday, February 6: Cupcake Challenge
Saturday, March 5: Volunteer Day
Saturday, March 26: Easter Egg Hunt
C. Approved Homecoming 2.0 Event
Discussion results for Homecoming 2.0
- Approved event date of March 19, 2015 was cancelled.
- Dominic Castro to brought numbers for Country Club Pricing and food
options.
- Council discussed possible dates in April and May but concluded that
there would not be a good date before the end of the school year to hold
the event.
- Discussion concluded with the Teen Council exploring additional options
for dates to be discussed at the next meeting.
- Explore doing an event at Arroyo Vista Park in the Peppertree Pavilion to
Teen Council

take the place of the Homecoming 2.0 event. The event would be in the
evening and include food trucks, DJ, black lights, and be for High School
students only. Teen Council would pre-sell tickets. Discussion will
continue at the next Teen Council meeting.
D. Brainstorm Ideas for Teen Programs and Classes
Brainstorming results for programs and classes are as follows: None.
6. ANNOUNCEMENTS/FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS:
Emily Appleton, Young Adult Librarian made announcements regarding the Teen
Tech Week programming and MakerBox Grant programming that will be
happening at the library in February and March.
7. CONSENT CALENDAR:
MOTION: Teen Council member Gavin Mazur moved and Teen Council member Jeff
Landis seconded a motion to approve the Consent Calendar. The motion carried by
voice vote: 10 - 0. Teen Council Members Gianna Brown, Brooke Clarke, Heather
Cooper, Rosie Cummings, Siddhi Saluke were absent.
A. Consider Regular Meeting Minutes of December 2, 2015.
Staff Recommendation: Approve the minutes.
8. ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting was adjourned at 5:53 p.m. by Dominic Castro.
