SUBJECT: Consider Notice of Completion for the Magnolia Park Street
Improvement Project
DISCUSSION
A. Background / Project Scope
The FY 2006/07 Budget includes Project 7816 for the construction of a park at the
intersection of Charles Street and Magnolia Street. The City undertook and
completed efforts necessary to vacate Magnolia Street between Charles Street
and a point just north of the Fire Station. The future park will include the vacant
property at the southwest corner of Charles Street and Magnolia Street, and the
vacated Magnolia Street right -of -way.
The subject project is for the construction of Phase 1 of the park improvements.
This work included the removal and /or modification of street improvements in the
vicinity of the future park. Phase II of the project, the construction of the park
improvement, will follow later this year.
B. Changes
1- Quantity Adjustments: As is typical with public works construction projects,
the actual quantities required for the job differed from the engineer's estimate.
This project required additional quantities of certain bid items resulting in an
additional cost of $3,737.00.
2. Change Orders: One Contract Change Order was approved for the removal and
replacement of damaged curb and gutter in the vicinity of the project and the
installation of a new water line connection.
