DATE: December 8, 2016 (CC Meeting of 12/21/16) gut' SUBJECT: Consider Appointments to the Citizens Transportation Advisory Committee BACKGROUND The Citizens Transportation Advisory Committee(CTAC) acts as an advisory board to the Ventura County Transportation Commission on matters concerning transportation planning and the annual identification of possible unmet public transit needs. The City has two representatives and one alternate who serve on this committee for a two year term. The current term expires on December 31, 2016. DISCUSSION Recruitment to fill these positions ended on October 28, 2016 with three applications received from the following: Josh Donner Allan Dorfman Bruce Rokos The applications have been provided to Council under separate cover. The Council's adopted procedure for appointments (Policy 2.2 [9.] of Resolution 2015- 3378) is as follows: A. The Mayor shall solicit suggested nominees from members of the Council. B. Prior to making a motion for appointment, the Mayor shall announce the names of all persons he/she intends to nominate, and in the order to be nominated, for a board, commission, or committee. 8 Honorable City Council December 21, 2016 Regular Meeting Page 2 C. The Mayor shall then make a motion putting forth each individual name to be approved for appointment. D. A second shall be required. E. The Council shall vote on each appointment individually. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Appoint two City representatives and one alternate to serve on the Citizens Transportation Advisory Committee for a term ending December 2018. 9
