County of Ventura's Moorpark Road Realignment Project
On June 20, 2001, the City Council approved an appeal filled by
the County of Ventura and directed the issuance of an Encroachment
Permit for the work on City streets required by the County's
project. Subsequent to that action, there have been discussions
between the City and the County about the possible re- design of
that project to prevent or discourage the flow of north -south
traffic between the "new" Moorpark Road and Miller Parkway.
In recent weeks a number of Petitions have been received from
residents along Miller Parkway, citing concerns about the
perceived "future" traffic problem which may result from the
County's project. A letter has been sent to the property owners
and /or residents in neighborhoods along Miller Parkway, advising
them that this matter is to be considered by the City Council at
its August 1 meeting.
