B. Discuss Teen Council Event to take place in Spring
Ms. Mellon requested that Mr. Ramirez discuss an event that he had done
previously called "Lazertag @ the Library" to see if the Teen Council had any
desire to try this event in Moorpark during spring 2017. The Teen Council was all
in agreement that this sounded like a great event. The event would be held at
the Moorpark City Library before daylight saving time begins on a Friday night in
the spring. To participate, teenagers would bring a new teen or classic book to
donate or pay a $10 entry fee. The City would rent the lasertag equipment.
Could have Pizza and a theme of "black out" meaning wear all black clothing.
The Teen Council also discussed having gaming systems available and using the
3-D printer for demonstrations. More discussion of this event will take place at
the next meeting and the Moorpark City Young Adult Librarian will be asked to
attend the meeting.
