BY: vrtNUTES OF THE JOINT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND LIBRARY BOARD Moorpark, California March 29, 2017 A Special Joint Meeting of the City Council and Library Board was held on March 29, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. at the Moorpark Community Center located at 799 Moorpark Avenue, Moorpark, California. 1. CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Parvin called the City Council to order at 7:24 p.m. President McGregor called the Library Board to order at 7:24 p.m. 2. THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Board Member Landry led the Pledge of Allegiance. 3. ROLL CALL: Library Board Board Members Goble, Landry, Rios, Sunseri and President McGregor. City Council: Councilmembers Mikos, Pollock, Simons, Van Dam, and Mayor Parvin. Staff Present: Steven Kueny, City Manager; Deborah Traffenstedt, Assistant City Manager; Jeremy Laurentowski, Parks and Recreation Director; Jessica Sandifer, Program Manager, and Maureen Benson, City Clerk. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT: None. 5. PRESENTATION/ACTION/DISCUSSION: A. Consider Status Report on Mission Statement, Priorities, Goals and Objectives for Fiscal Years 2015/2016 and 2016/2017. Staff Recommendation: Direct staff as deemed appropriate. Mr. Kueny gave a brief oral report 165 Minutes of the City Council and Library Board Moorpark, California Page 2 March 29, 2017 There were no speakers. The Council and Board discussed: 1) New City Librarian; 2) Approval for building new library: 3) Self-check book service; 4) Membership of a Library Ad Hoc Committee; 5) Soil study at new library site; 5) Suggestion to use the American Library Checklist of Library Design for building recommendations; 6) City has cash to build the library and desire to fund- raise for interior fixtures, furniture, and books. Mayor Parvin thanked the Library Board for what they do for the community. 6. ADJOURNMENT: Mayor Parvin adjourned the City Council meeting and President McGregor adjourned the Library Board meeting at 7:57 p.m. Janice S.
