SUBJECT: Consider an Amendment to the Budget Appropriation for Insurance Services, Item
8. C., March 15, 1995
Item 8.C. on the March 15, Council agenda requested two budget amendments increasing the
appropriation for general liability insurance services, and affordable housing. The appropriation
for insurance was recommended by staff to be taken from the general fund reserve, and be placed
in the general distribution line item 01.4.200.648.
All general expenses shared by various City departments are first placed in the department "200,"
and then distributed to each department at the end of the month. Technically, the "200
department" is for administrative purposes only.
To clarify Council action, staff is requesting that the action taken March 15, by the Council
concerning insurance services be amended, to show an appropriation to each specific department
which is subject to sharing the general overhead costs.
Recommendation
That the City Council rescind the action of March 15, 1995, pertaining to insurance services, and
appropriate $13,500 from the general fund reserve as follows:
1) 15%to Administrative Services, $2,025 to 01.4.117.648;
2) 20 % to Recreation, $2,700 to 01.4.148.648;
3) 20 %to Community Development, $2,700 to 41.4.131.648;
4) 25 %to Public Works, $ 3,375, and;
5) 20%to the Redevelopment Agency, $2,700 to 01.4.170.648.
