SUBJECT: Consider Update on Plans for Citv Fourth of July
Celebration and Commemoration of the 50th
Anniversary of the End of World War II.
BACKGROUND
The Community Services Departmern� is planning
the annual

served as co- sponsors of this

which will also include a ceremony commemorating the 50th
Anniversary of the end of World War II. The American Legion
will be providing additional ir,fozmatlon and assistance on
this. Staff will contact, thrc;gh the American Legion, and
the VFW, all World War II veterE. , anc invite them and their
families to be recognized at 4tr f July event. Those
Moorpark families, who had 1c,v — c ne: i.11ed in World War, II
will also be invited to atten i.
Staff also intends on recogniz:,_iLq the anniversary as part of
the ground breaking and dedi- �atorr ceremonies of Poindexter
Park. The Council has expresses a (iesile to have a Veteran's
