HomeMy WebLinkAboutAGENDA REPORT 1995 1115 CC REG ITEM 11HNovember 10, 1995 City of Moorpark 799 Moorpark Avenue Moorpark, CA 93021 Attention: Honorable City Council Subject: Request for Use of City Facilities Dear Sirs: RECEIVED NOV 14 1995 City of moorperw _)CRPARK, CALIFC '7'+: " CJy Council Meeting The Catch -A -Star program requests that the City Council authorize use of the Apricot Room in the Community Center on December 3, 1995 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM for a special holiday program to benefit the youth of our community. Waiver of the customary fees for use of the facility is also requested. Catch -A -Star is a non - profit program developed by the spouses of City Council members to aid young people 12 to 18 years of age who would otherwise not receive useful gifts of clothing or educational items during the holiday season. The program will also try to help Moorpark youths in other age groups should their needs be made known. On the evening of December 3, members of the community will have the opportunity to join in and pick a star from the tree at the Community Center which will select a young person to receive a gift from them. A partial listing of sponsoring organizations for Catch -A -Star includes W.O.M.E.N., the Moopark Library, Moopark College, Moorpark Active Seniors, Reuben Castro, Caesar's Carpets, Moorpark Historical Society, Kiwanis of Moorpark, Community Christian Church, the Boys and Girls Club, Packers Youth Football, the Moorpark Star and the Moorpark Business Services Center.
