CJy Council Meeting
The Catch -A -Star program requests that the City Council authorize use of the Apricot
Room in the Community Center on December 3, 1995 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM for a
special holiday program to benefit the youth of our community. Waiver of the
customary fees for use of the facility is also requested.
Catch -A -Star is a non - profit program developed by the spouses of City Council
members to aid young people 12 to 18 years of age who would otherwise not receive
useful gifts of clothing or educational items during the holiday season. The program
will also try to help Moorpark youths in other age groups should their needs be made
known. On the evening of December 3, members of the community will have the
opportunity to join in and pick a star from the tree at the Community Center which will
select a young person to receive a gift from them.
A partial listing of sponsoring organizations for Catch -A -Star includes W.O.M.E.N.,
the Moopark Library, Moopark College, Moorpark Active Seniors, Reuben Castro,
Caesar's Carpets, Moorpark Historical Society, Kiwanis of Moorpark, Community
Christian Church, the Boys and Girls Club, Packers Youth Football, the Moorpark Star
and the Moorpark Business Services Center.
Thank you for your support and interest in the young people of Moorpark.
Sincerely,
