SUBJECT: Princeton Avenue Signal
Amendment to Cooperative Agreement
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The enclosed amendment to the Cooperative Agreement for the
Princeton Avenue Signal has been prepared to include the
utility relocation costs for the Southern California Edison
Company. 'The City and Caltrans are paying for the
relocation costs because the Edison Company has prior rights
over both the City and Caltrans. The increase in cost
includes', $35, 000 for relocation of the power poles and
$23 , 500 for taxes.
All costs of this project are shared 1/3 City, 2/3 State.
Therefore, the City' s share of this cost is $19, 500 and the
State' s share is $39 , 000. The Edison costs are , only
estimates at this time. Actual costs will be determined
when all work is complete. The following table summarizes
the changes to the Cooperative Agreement.

AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT
THIS AGREEMENT TO AGREEMENT, ENTERED INTO ON , 19 ,
is between the State of California, acting by and through its
Department of Transportation, referred to herein as STATE, and
CITY OF MOORPARK,
a body politic and a municipal
corporation of the STATE of
California, referred to herein
as CITY.
RECITALS
(1) The parties hereto entered into AGREEMENT No. 3724
(Document No. 5504) on October 14, 1985, said AGREEMENT defining
the terms and conditions of a cooperative project to install a
traffic control signal system with safety lighting at the
intersection of Princeton Avenue and State Route 118, referred to
herewin as the PROJECT.
(2) It has been determined that additional funds are
necessary to cover the utility relocation construction costs.
IT IS THEREFORE MUTUALLY AGREED:
(1) That Section I, Article ( 4) is amended to read "To
pay an amount equal to 33 1/3% of the construction costs involved
in installing the traffic signal; but in no event shall CITY'S
obligation for construction costs under this agreement exceed the
amount of $66,000; provided that CITY may, at its sole discretion,
in writing authorize a greater amount. "
( 2) That SP^tion II, Article (1) is amended to read "To
deposit with CITY prior to award of a construction contract for
PROJECT the amount of $188,000, which figure represents STATE' S
estimated share of the expense of preparation of plans and
specifications, construction engineering, utility negotiation and
inspection and construction costs required to complete PROJECT,

as shown in Amended Exhibit A. In no event shall STATE' S total
obligation for said costs under this agreement exceed the amount
of $207,000; provided that STATE may, at its sole discretion, in
writing authorize a greater amount.
( 3) That Exhibit "A" of the original AGREEMENT be
amended as shown on the Amended Exhibit "A", attached and made
part of this Agreement.
( 4) The other terms and conditions of said AGREEMENT
shall remain in full force and effect.

(5 ) This AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT is hereby deemed to be
part of AGREEMENT No. 3724 (Document No. 5504) .
