August 17, 2006 Dear Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers, in the past the City Council has been very helpful in assisting the Rotary Club of Moorpark in the success of its annual Civil War Event. As you may know, all of the proceeds from the event go to support Moorpark educational and charitable programs. Last year the Council was kind enough to let the Club advertise the event on the City's marquee signs and loan the Club the use of the City's lights for our nighttime battle event. Those of you who were able to attend know that the lighting made this nighttime battle a spectacular time. The event was attended by over 7,000 people and over 600 re-- enactors. It is that time of the year again and the Club would like the City's support in the worthwhile event through the loan of the City lights on November 4 and 5. We greatly appreciate the City's continued support of Rotary and this event. Thank you for your support in this regard. Sincerely, E ladle Parvin Rotary Club of Moorpark Civil War Event Chair CC ATTACHMENT I ;01 0 S
